Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve been legitimately upbeat about our odds of taking down the death star, but hey, what a difference a day makes. Personally, and I know it may not seem like it, I love surprises, good ones anyway. So the energy future President Kamala Harris brought to the table has been electrifying. Something most pundits didn’t see coming and they masterfully commandeered the campaign apparatus without skipping a beat. SO now, here we are, with a whole new outlook. It’s amazing how much of a drain looking past Biden’s age was taking on our collective psyche and how much better everyone seems to feel now that the burden is gone.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Joe Biden has passed the first legislation in my lifetime to reverse trickle down economics and help the middle class. And the only substantial legislation ever passed to tackle climate change. I hope he’s remembered for that. And I hope the Democrats and Kamala have a plan to build on that success. Because if we don’t tackle inequality and stem the coming climate crisis we’re never going to get past the frustration that makes the Republican’s con possible.
But for now we have to win this election and Personally, I think a Harris/Buttigieg ticket would be the most energizing for turnout. Plus I’d love to see Buttigieg destroy J.D. Vance in a debate. Just rip his smirky little muskratty face right off of his little white nationalistic head. That’d be awesome. I don’t mean that literally, I mean with words, I would never advocate for actual violence. I mean with debate. But crush him.
Anyway, people will say she needs an old moderate white guy or something. They’re both already moderates, c’mon get real, and we don’t need another older white guy on the ticket. Or they’ll say he’s not able to be President if needed. Seriously? Macron is President. Trudeau is Prime Minister. Meloni is Prime minister. None of them have anything on Pete. He’s an Afghanistan vet, multilingual, former mayor, known on the national stage, he’s gay and Christian that a feat, he’s young and plus he’s right on so many things and can sum it up like only a few politicians can. He’s like a zinger machine. And of course, he’s the only option that has been vetted on the national stage. We know what to expect.
It’d be a super exciting transformative ticket and plus it’ll get the republicans firing on every cylinder. They’ll exhaust themselves in their frenzy and rancor. They won’t be able to choose what to degrade first. Should they go with sexism? Racism? Full on homophobe? Two first gentlemen in the Whitehouse?!? Their heads will explode and they won’t be able to help themselves.
I don’t just want to see this ungodly authoritarian apparatus be defeated in one election, I want to see it self implode on its own arrogance and crawl back to the shadows where it belongs.
I say go for it.
