Harith Augustus rally in front of Mayor Rahm Emanuel's house

On the morning of July 18, a few hundred people showed up in front of Rahm Emanuel’s house to protest his dealings with police brutality in Chicago. Many of the speakers spoke about building a better future and investing money directly in Chicago communities, instead of spending 95 million on a new police academy on the West Side.

At the end, a woman who said her uncle was a victim in a police shooting in the 80s randomly came across the march. A group of members from Southsiders Organized for Unity and Liberation (S.O.U.L) led an impromptu prayer session that brought the crowd to tears.
